What's New?

Monthly survey forms and reporting contacts with families

Packets with materials went out to all leadership, if you do not track this information for your group, please forward them to the group leader who does and let us know who we should be sending future monthly packets to. We will discuss and answer questions on our conference call on Dec. 6th, but if you have any questions please contact us!

Legislative Forum Training-

The legislative forum training was held Nov. 10th.  The training was well attended and plans are being formulated for Legislative Forums to be held the first part of 2008. Attendees learned how to communicate the key mental health issues, keep the dialog positive and respectful and to use their personal story to bring home the needs. If you are interested in being involved, it’s not too late! Contact your local affiliate leader or Annette at the state office. Scheduled events will be posted in this newsletter

Help for families and youth transitioning to Adulthood-

Technical Assistance and Training Services for Transitional Planning Grant.

This project will provide youth with SED, their families and the professionals that support them with the strategies and tools needed to help transition into the adult world after high school. The project includes trainings for youth, parents and professionals, a Transition Conference and a Youth Leadership program.

Affiliate input for marketing NAMI NH-

Do providers refer families to NAMI NH support groups?

Do providers know about NAMI NH support and education for families?

How can we reach more families in need of education and support?

How can we provide the outreach to families that we do know need support?

These are just some of the questions that we hope to answer as part of our Membership Grant project. Affiliate members and teachers offered great insight to these questions at the Fall Affiliate/Teacher meeting. A follow up meeting was held Oct. 17th to continue formulating plans that will help engage and support families in need. The next step is developing the marketing piece to distribute to providers and to reach out to families. Follow up meeting Thursday Jan 17 5:30-7:30

Happy Thanksgiving to All

Thanks,     Annette
