This newsletter is currently sent to leaders, teachers, NAMI NH staff and board members, so please make copies, or forward emails to add members to the distribution list.

News-

Thank you to all who attended the Affiliate Leader/Teacher Fall meeting on September 9. The attendees were presented with the draft NAMI NH Strategic Plan. Lots of great input was given and those that are interested in staying involved in the process please contact me. The presentation did take up the majority of the meeting and leaders and teachers did ask that the next time we meet we spend more time on sharing and updates from leaders and teachers. Participants would also like to see representatives from the board visit the meeting again to focus on the affiliate and teacher concerns and allow more time for general discussion and getting to know each other. We will work on all these ideas for the spring meeting.

Upcoming Events-

December. NAMI Texas, the administrators of the VFT program are only allowing us that amount of time to utilize the current curriculum, if you are willing or able to teach a class please contact Claudia at cferber@naminh.org

Needed……..

Affiliate groups willing to reach out and connect with their local representatives. In February NAMI NH will host a luncheon and IOOV presentation for members of the legislator. The goal is to create interest for representatives to join a NH Mental Health Caucus. We all know that representatives are much more interested in what the members of their own communities want and need. The hope is that groups will invite their new (and old) reps to attend an informational meeting within their own community and help to create interest and awareness and prepare them for February’s presentation! Please let me know if you need help in planning this type of meeting.

Reminder-

This Affiliate Newsletter and Biannual meeting minutes can be found posted on the NAMI NH webpage at www.naminh.org, click on “News” on the black horizontal line and then click on Affiliate news on the left side.
