Connect Suicide Prevention Training for Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Providers - Community Event

September 5, 2014, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

The NH Training Institute on Addictive Disorders is hosting a national best practice suicide prevention training specifically designed for substance misuse providers in NH. CEUs are being offered through NASW, LADC and serves for CPS certification.

4th Annual Ride for Nathan - Community Event

4th Annual Memorial Tree Lighting Ceremony - Community Event

September 7, 2014
In recognition of mental illness awareness, a tree lighting ceremony was established by survivors of suicide loss and will take place on September 7th to help kick off World Suicide Prevention Week in NH. The tree will stay lit for one week in remembrance of people lost to suicide or any cause of death and in honor of those struggling with mental illness. Bulbs may be purchased in honor of your loved one to raise funds for the NAMI NH. View the flyer for more information or contact Deb Baird.

Plymouth State University Mental Health Forum - 2014 - Community Event

Tuesday, October 7 from 6:00-7:30 pm

In recognition of Mental Illness Awareness Week, a Mental Health Forum will be held at Plymouth State University including soeakers from the In Our Own Voice program who will talk about their personal experience living with and recovering from mental illness.

All who wish to join are welcome to attend. There is no charge or registration required for this presentation.  A variety of literature and resources will be available.

Location:  Plymouth State University, Centre Lodge-Bradford Room
(parking is available in a pay-to-park kiosk located in Lot #408 adjacent to Centre Lodge)

15th Annual Erik Cogswell Memorial Conference - Community Event

The 15th Erik Cogswell Memorial Conference will take place in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This year's conference will focus on concepts related to trauma, its impact on mental health, and recovery. The conference seeks to educate families, consumers and professionals. Cheryl Sharp, senior advisor for trauma-informed services for the National Council for Behavioral Health, will serve as the keynote speaker. 2014 NH Suicide Prevention Conference - Community Event

The 11th Annual NH Suicide Prevention Conference will be held on November 7th. It offers a variety of workshops and plenary sessions for anyone interested in suicide prevention. Survivors of suicide loss are encouraged to attend but should keep in mind that it can be very difficult for survivors with recent losses.
