Did you know?

  • In NH over next 12 months approximately 254,000 adults will experience one or more diagnosable mental health disorders.
  • About 55,000 (1 in 5) children in NH – either currently or at some time in their life - have had a seriously debilitating mental disorder.
  • Fewer than 1/3 of adults and 1/2 of children with a diagnosable mental disorder receive any mental health services in a given year.
  • 90% of all people who die by suicide have either a mental illness or substance abuse disorder.

WE must raise the public’s awareness of mental illness as a chronic disease and break down the stigma that often causes people with mental illnesses to avoid seeking the treatment, services and supports they need and deserve.
