Mental health matters to us!

Mental health can be defined as emotional and psychological well-being that results in productive activities, fulfilling relationships, the ability to adapt to change and to cope with challenging situations. It is basic to thinking and communication skills, learning, emotional growth, resilience and a sense of self worth. As such, mental health matters to everyone, but everyone doesn’t always know why it matters. We are in a unique position to educate our legislators about why mental health, substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders matter, and why they should care.

Education is the key to stigma reduction and to informed governmental spending.

NH legislators are elected by you and me. They represent our interests in the NH government.  As our representatives, they need to understand what is important to those of us who live in their community, region and state.  How can they accurately “represent” us if they don’t know what matters to us?
