This newsletter is currently only sent to leaders and teachers so please make copies and share, or forward emails to add members to the distribution list.

Upcoming Events-

Save the Date – April 8 Affiliate Leader and Teacher Biannual Meeting at NHH
The NAMI NH Frameworks Suicide Prevention staff has agreed to do a “GateKeeper”suicide prevention training for those attending this meeting.
So mark your calendars, more information to come!

Save the Date- April 19 Volunteer Appreciation Day
Please plan to attend the NAMI NH volunteer appreciation celebration. Awards to be presented. More information to come!

News-
There is a new state initiative that the Office of Medical Services is embarking upon through a block grant. They are hoping to increase the trained workforce available to provide respite and child care for children with medical and behavioral health care needs. The Block Grant has identified respite as state performance measure #10. The group had few families represented and many professionals. A request was sent out from Claudia Ferber to parents, asking for their representation at this meeting next week. The response to that request was great, Thank you to all that came forward!

Affiliate News-
A new Parents Meeting the Challenge group will start meeting in Rochester on Feb.28. Our thanks to Laurie Foster and Sondra Farrell for committing to facilitate this group.

NEEDED –
Annual Award Nominations
Coming soon to you via email will be the Annual Award Nomination form. This is your chance to honor someone you have seen go above and beyond! It can be your support group leader, F2F teacher, psychiatrist or local legislator.

Volunteers to serve on the Affiliate Special Projects committee.
• Review Affiliate requests for use of the special projects fund.
• 5-10 hours per year
• Must be an affiliate member
• No traveling to concord required

Reminder-
Please record calls or emails you receive regarding your affiliate. If you need another copy of the I & R (Information and Referral) Log please let me know. The information from these log sheets is vital to our grant writing.

F2F and VFT News-
Spring 2006 classes
• F2F will be taught again in Nashua starting March 6, if you know of people interested have them contact Scott and Norma Smith at 882-6771
• F2F will also be taught in the Littleton area starting the first week in March, for class registration contact Lianne and Gerry Henry at 837-2210
• VFT will be taught in Rochester and Claremont starting in April.
To register for the Rochester class contact Laurie Foster at 332-5649 for the Claremont class contact Karen Lord at 542-2054

Office Update-
There are some new faces at NAMI NH!
The grant to fund the Frameworks Youth Suicide Prevention project has provided for the hiring of additional staff specific to this project. Several new names and faces on this project include:
Abby Winzeler –Abby has worked with NAMI NH part time in the past and now makes her permanent full time home with us as Research Assistant. Abby’s focus is on data collection and analysis.
Ellen Troy- Ellen joined NAMI NH this winter, as a fulltime administrative assistant working primarily with the Frameworks project. Ellen has just been promoted to Office Supervisor and will manage the administrative staff and office volunteers.
Ann Duckless – Ann has joined NAMI NH as a Community Educator for the Frameworks Suicide prevention project
