Evidence Based Practice Conference
Below is an invitation sent to NAMI NH for all membership

On behalf of the State Evidence Based Practices Team, please hold the date of February 22, 2006 for a very important meeting.
The State EBP, comprised of a wide variety of stakeholders including consumers, family members, community mental health centers, the NH Bureau of Behavioral Health and staff from the Dartmouth Psychiatric Research Center has reached a consensus on the next EBP to be implemented in New Hampshire. That practice will be Evidence Based Supported Employment.
To start this process, the State EBP Team, in cooperation with the Dartmouth Evidence Based Practices Center and the Dartmouth Psychiatric Research Center will be holding a conference, "Making Evidence Based Supported Employment Work"
The conference will be held at New Hampshire Hospital in the A/B/C conference room on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Having representation from each region at this meeting will be important, including, consumers, family members, Directors of Peer Support Programs, CMHC and CMHP Directors, Community Support Program Directors, Chief Operating Officers, Vocational Staff, as well as other important community stakeholders.

The conference will provide an overview of Supported Employment, benefits, principles, implementation lessons learned and next steps for New Hampshire.
Please let me know if you are interested in attending and I will forward you further information.

Walk 2006 Committee members

We are seeking a volunteer to represent NAMI NH on the State Mental Health & Aging Consumer Advisory Council. This monthly meeting is made up of consumers, family members, providers, administrators, and other interested parties who take a statewide perspective on the resources, programs, services for and needs of older adults dealing with mental health issues.
This group gets involved in outreach, education, support, and advocacy around key issues affecting older adults on such areas such as transportation, funding, legislation, and information to individuals and families.
The commitment would involve joining the meeting monthly (or as possible) on the last Monday of every month at the Bureau of Behavioral Health, from 11:00-2:00 (lunch is provided), and bringing the unique NAMI perspective to this meeting and key information from the meeting back to NAMI NH.
NAMI NH will interview interested candidates and select someone as our representative to serve as soon as the right individual is ready to step forward.

For more information about this, contact Elaine de Mello: 225-5359, ext 15 or edemello@naminh.org
