A Program for Older Adults with Mental Illness, Their Families and Caregivers
Side by Side for Independent Living is a series of 8 educational workshops that provide information and guidance to family members and caregivers of older adults with mental illness. These workshops provide information on critical topics appropriate to those caring for older adults with mental illness. The goal is to help participants better understand and support their loved ones in managing their illness and coping with other issues related to aging.
These workshops are designed for caregivers, such as family members or close friends, whether or not they reside with the older adult, as well as “professional caregivers” who are hired to provide in-home, non-medical services to older adults. Participants may attend all 8 workshops or just those of interest. Registration is required.
