NAMI Next Gen NH
Your Voice. Your Story. Real Impact.
NAMI Next Gen NH (NNG) is a leadership and advocacy program for Granite Staters ages 18–25 who are ready to take action for mental health. This is your space to speak up, build skills, and help change how mental health is understood and supported across NH.
NNG empowers young adults to lead the movement—reducing stigma, promoting empathy, and turning passion into action.
Delaney serves with The Hidden Opponent (THO) as well as the Student Athlete Advisory Committee to promote mental health in athletics. She is passionate about promoting mental health training opportunities and developed and facilitated a mental health panel while in high school.
Derin is a member of NAMI On Campus at UNH and brings her passion to events and club meetings, ready to confront any challenge to move mental health advocacy forward. Derin’s advocacy began early, working in her school to build community and make sure everyone has a seat at the table.
Erin uses public speaking, film, and storytelling to spark change. Her short film Dear Younger Me won multiple awards and has been featured at statewide conferences and government meetings. Erin aspires to work in special education and early emotional education.
Mia’s public speaking and community-building work across the Granite State has been recognized by various outlets including WMUR, the Union Leader, and the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. She brings lived experience, professional insight, and a deep understanding of how mental health evolves over time, especially for young people.
As a student studying social work and public and mental health, Marena brings lived experience, leadership, and creativity to every space she enters. Marena serves as Vice President of student government and the chair of the academic affairs committee with a focus on mental health at her college, and shares her personal story to help others feel less alone.

This session, originally delivered at the 2026 NAMI NH Annual Conference, focuses on practical strategies advocates can use to care for their own mental health while continuing to support others, highlighting realistic and effective self-care practices, the importance of boundaries, and the role of reflection.
As a NNG Ambassador, you’ll gain real‑world experience while making a difference by bringing your insight, energy, and lived experience. NNG Ambassadors have the opportunity to:
- Advocate for mental health in their state and community
- Share their story and support others to inspire hope
- Build leadership and communication skills
- Take part in signature NAMI NH programs and events
- Connect with a statewide network of mental health advocates
NNG Ambassadors are changemakers who break down stigma, spark important conversations, create more compassionate communities, and lead with honesty, courage, and purpose. This is your chance to be heard — and to help others feel less alone.
