Support Group Facilitator Training NAMI New Hampshire is looking for individuals interested in becoming support group facilitators for Family and Parent Support Groups. Support group leaders are family members of individuals living with mental illnesses. They are able to share their stories with others who may be experiencing similar challenges. They empathize with and encourage family members who are journeying through the symptoms, setbacks and treatments that are a part of their loved-one’s illness. They play an essential role in ensuring that all support group participants feel welcomed and their voices heard. Qualifications: Attend at least 2 sessions of NAMI NH support groups as a participant. Find a group: www.naminh.org/supportgroups Have lived experience as a family member or loved one of an individual with mental health challenges Fill out a volunteer application at www.naminh.org/volunteer Meet with the trainer to determine if support group facilitation is a fit Upon completion of the training, complete a background check April 1-2, 2023 8:30am-4pm - Virtual To register/More Info: Pam Brazeau namiseacoast@gmail.com 603-502-6580
