August 2024’s Volunteer of the Month is Lauren Ariano!
Lauren is an amazing young adult with a promising future who brings hope to individuals and families impacted by mental illness. Lauren was a founding member of the NAMI On Campus (NOC) program at the University of New Hampshire. Through her leadership, the UNH NOC club held awareness events for students and staff and held a 5k to raise money last spring. In a little over a year, Lauren was trained and certified as a NAMI NH In Our Own Voice presenter and a Connection Peer Support facilitator. She also received a scholarship to attend NAMI National’s Convention NAMICon 2024 in Denver this past June. We are excited to continue to work with Lauren as a volunteer and are grateful for all she does to reduce the stigma and bring awareness and hope here in the Granite State!
