Support SB 498

Your voice made a difference.

Today, mental health advocates gathered in Concord to share their support for expanding access to wraparound services for youth and families and to urge House Representatives to pass SB 498. All morning, the halls of the State House were lined with green – with advocates wearing shirts and holding signs calling our policymakers to act for mental health.

Unfortunately, House members voted to refer SB 498 to interim study – which means that the bill will no longer go forward this session. Although this is not the outcome we worked for, we are exceedingly grateful for the progress we have made, the strong collaboration with our partners, the support of the Governor’s office and state agencies, and, above all, the fierce advocacy of our NAMI New Hampshire family.

This is not the end – we will continue to work to close this critical coverage gap and ensure that all families can access the care they need, when and where they need it, regardless of their health coverage.
